It's not unusual to make good connections when you live and work in a town like Marblehead.
I've enjoyed a connected life ever since I came to Marblehead in 1987 and began racing as a crew on Sailboats out of the Boston Yacht Club. It helped that I married a guy who actually thought he'd been here before (a previous life!), who was very popular among my family and friends, and enthusiastically supported everything I did or wanted to do.
Nauticals of Marblehead, the shop above ShipShape and the Muffin shop for many years, (you know, with all that old wooden boat stuff rearranged into fun, artful and useful shapes for the home or boat) was a destination for everyone who wanted to feel connected to the sea. We made authentic and creative objects from derelict wooden boats that connected us to our maritime past and present. Our dry-dock boatwood tables became iconic in certain circles. Many are still in the homes of people who stumbled into my shop on Washington Street over the years and became enchanted with the varnished and functional shapes.Thank you for your support all these years.
